Everyone's Invincible, But It's Just Pretend...

I recall many experiences in my shady youth of sleepovers with friends and cousins. The actual term "sleepover" is somewhat of a misnomer. While the idea is evident, actual sleeping never occurred at these social events. It was always a night of games, pranks (hand in warm water, or handful of shaving cream), chats, jokes, and no sleeping. In fact, it is because of the aforementioned activities that no one dared to sleep. Hence why I've always referred to them as "Slumber Parties" which is also a misnomer, but less so than "sleepover."

Those experiences were somewhat rekindled this weekend as I was host to Lincoln and Rachel for the night. Now, I had no plan or intention of revisiting all the activities of slumber parties in my youth, but I did take advantage of the "party" element. We tested our culinary skills and did some baking.

They did the making...

...and while I did the baking...

Lincoln found Waldo!

Eating was good and plenty. We even had enough to share.

Then it was a night of watching Goonies, and then... sleep! (officially a sleepover)

Then in the morning it was cartoons and waffles, in that order.
(Too tired to take photos... and also BED HEAD! Yikes!)

I had fun, and perhaps my reign as the coolest uncle will now last a bit longer.
