Give my love to the future of the humankind...

I do!

I think it dates all the way back to my childhood when I'd go roller skating at a rink owned by a family in my neighborhood. I could always count on an ice cold bottle of Sunkist (or Ramblin Root Beer if Sunkist was unavailable) before or after strapping on a pair of those death-shoes. It always tasted better after. Yes I fell down... a lot.

My love for the beverage of the globose fruit, while heavy now, is fleeting at times. I have a sneaky feeling it is because I wear out its welcome everytime I crave it (example: I was at Rancherito's late last night with friends and the orange soda tasted so good with my burrito, I think I refilled the cup 4 times). I tend to drink so much orange soda so fast that I quickly lose desire for it. Then a few months later that desire returns. It is the ebb and flow of my thirst.

But no more! After my aforementioned brush with doom I have decided to enjoy orange soda in significantly smaller doses, largely due to this new four-letter word I'm still acclimating into my daily vernacular; that Voldemort-ish term, "diet."

Um, no!

Maybe I should try the diet stuff. I don't think it'll stick. No other diet-drink has, except Crystal Light.
Evertime I drink orange soda I am reminded of the Waponi Woo tribe on the tiny island of Waponi in the South Pacific. If you have seen a certain movie then you might be familiar with these curious people. Their love for this beverage surpasses any that I have seen before or since (even that twit Kel who always seemed to conveniently act like Pee Wee Herman when he drank the stuff, verrrrrrry original).

I love orange soda, that is all.

... and I miss mandarin orange Slice. Bring it back.

Just a Taste is All I Wanted...

Watching the Olympics has kept me up late every night and on the internet way more than usual. There have been many great moments in Beijing (not to mention a homesick-like feeling I get when I see the scenic shots of the city attractions and, of course, the food) and I've caught the wave of patriotism that comes every two years. So far I've had one big "what if" moment that I'm taking away from these two weeks. It is this...

Man, if only D-Will was able to get that dunk in, it would have been one of the main highlights of the entire Olympics and he would be a world legend. Sadly though, the ball slipped out of his hand. I will forever wonder...

But it did remind me of this:

Still easily the greatest dunk I have ever seen...
